What we keep, and why.

In short

• This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.
• Nothing on it loads from another company. The typefaces, films and pictures are served from this site.
• What you write to us is read by a person at Maison Aladdin and used to answer you.
• We do not sell your details, and we do not give them to anyone for their own use.

Who is responsible

Aladdin Mansour, founder of Maison Aladdin (a company in formation), decides how your details are used. For anything about them, write to bonjour@maisonaladdin.com or telephone +33 7 57 83 57 01. Our postal address will appear here once the company is registered.

What we receive

Only what you choose to send:

• When you write to us about a stay, a journey or your own house: your name, your email address and your note, with anything you add about places, dates, who is travelling or where the house is.
• When you apply to Maison Privée: the same, with a telephone number if you give one, where you are based, how often you travel and what you would like looked after. Applications are read in confidence, by the person who would look after you, and are never added to a mailing list.
• When you join the private list: your email address. You then receive one email asking you to confirm, and you are on the list only once you have. The address your request came from (its IP address) is recorded with it, as proof that the request was made.

To keep automated abuse out of the forms, the server counts requests from each connection for one hour, in a form that does not show the address itself. Like every web server, the host also keeps short technical logs, such as the address a request came from and the time, as set out in Hostinger’s own privacy policy.

Why, and on what basis

• To answer you and, if you wish, to prepare a proposal: this is a step taken at your request before any agreement.
• To send the private list: with your consent, which you may withdraw in one click at the foot of any letter.
• To keep the forms secure: our legitimate interest in a site that works.

Who handles it for us

Two companies process these details on our instructions and for no purpose of their own:

• Hostinger (HOSTINGER, UAB, Lithuania), which hosts the site and our mail.
• MailerLite, which sends the private list, and which keeps its data in the European Union.

Maison Aladdin is not yet established in the European Union, so what you send us is read from outside it, for now from Egypt. Hostinger may also process data on servers outside the European Union, on the terms of its own data processing agreement.

How long we keep it

• Letters and requests: three years after our last exchange, unless you become a client.
• Maison Privée applications: twelve months after the decision.
• The private list: until you unsubscribe, together with the record of when you confirmed. A request that is never confirmed is deleted after seven days.
• Details of clients, once there is an agreement: as long as the law requires for contracts and accounts, which in France is up to ten years.

Your rights

You may ask to see what we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to limit or object to its use, to receive it in a form you can take elsewhere, and to withdraw a consent you have given. In France you may also leave instructions about your details after your death.

Write to bonjour@maisonaladdin.com and a person will answer within a month. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the data protection authority where you live. In France this is the CNIL, at cnil.fr.

Care and limits

We keep what you send us with care, and use it only for the purposes on this page. No system is perfectly secure, and we would tell you promptly if something went wrong.

This site is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly receive details from anyone under sixteen.

Changes

If the way we handle your details changes, this page changes first, and its date with it.
