The Stay

One house, looked after completely.

Finding the house is only the beginning. The arrival, the days and everything in between stay in the same hands.

Where

The Riviera, the Amalfi Coast, Lake Como and the Greek islands; in winter, the Alps. Elsewhere, when you ask.

The house

Each house is chosen for you: for its character, its privacy, and the way it belongs to its landscape. We would rather show you two houses that suit you than twenty that might.

  • Private houses, chosen one guest at a time
  • Every house checked before it is proposed
  • Its drawbacks named as plainly as its views

II

The welcome

Arrival should feel like coming back rather than checking in. Before you travel, we learn how you like to be received and how you prefer to hear from us. The welcome follows from your answers, down to what is in the kitchen and how warm the rooms are.

  • Kitchen, flowers, linen and rooms prepared to your notes
  • Received as you prefer, agreed before you travel
  • A first evening planned, if you would like

III

The days

A stay is also the road there and back, and everything you do beyond the house. Drivers, boats and tables are arranged at your pace.

  • Drivers, boats and transfers, chosen and briefed
  • Tables and vineyards you will want to return to
  • One written plan for the whole stay

IV

The details

The driver you liked, asked for again. The table from your first evening, kept for your last. The day rearranged when the weather turns.

  • Your host, reachable at any hour while you are away
  • The unexpected, dealt with discreetly
A day, as it might go

A day, lightly arranged.

Nothing on this list is booked unless you want it. Everything on it can be.

  • 08:00A swim before the coast wakes up.
  • 09:30Breakfast in the shade, whenever you come down.
  • 11:00Nothing at all. The morning is yours.
  • 13:30A long lunch, an hour along the coast.
  • 16:00The boat, or the shade, or both.
  • 20:30Dinner at the house or in the old town, and a driver for the way back.
How a stay unfolds
01

Conversation

A call or a letter, whichever you prefer. We ask about how you like to live as much as where you want to go.

02

Proposal

Within days, a short plan: the house, the dates, the shape of the days, and what each part costs, our own included.

03

Stay

The house is ready and the days planned around you. While you are there, any change is ours to make.

04

Afterwards

We keep notes on the room you preferred and the wine you passed on, so the next stay begins where this one ended.

Request a stay

Every stay begins with a letter.

Tell us where you are thinking of going, roughly when, and who is coming. You will hear from us within two days.

Thank you. Your note has arrived.

You will hear from us within two days.

Used only to answer you, and never passed on for anyone else’s use.
